THE IDEAL STATE:
In this project I was interested in exploring the concept of idealism. I’m particularly interested in how idealism can lead to a withdrawal from mainstream society, while at the same time giving rise to new social structures, economies, and ways of living. I’m curious about how the people I encounter through this project define themselves in relation to the notion of idealism, and how they view their own initiatives in contrast to the “mainstream culture.
